For governmental organizations
Assess community issues and priorities
Assessment is a powerful tool for gaining information while also engaging key constituencies. We can provide targeted assessment through focus groups, community forums, surveys, and individual interviews to dive deeply into issues, gain qualitative and quantitative data, and engage community stakeholders. We use an asset-based approach to call out and celebrate community assets that can be deployed to overcome challenges and spark innovative new approaches. We conduct single issue assessments as well as broad, community wide priority assessments.
Build coalitions
We can facilitate development of broad, diverse community coalitions to move collective action forward. We specialize in facilitating large public-private collaborations, engaging members in developing consensus on a collective plan of action, and assisting them in implementing plans to accomplish defined outcomes. Coalitions we’ve worked with include both local and statewide groups. Areas of collective action facilitated include early childhood development, housing and homelessness, crime prevention, adolescent health, substance abuse prevention, and more.
Access federal and other funding
We have extensive expertise in complex federal grant applications, large foundation applications, and RFP responses. Our successful proposals have resulted in many millions of direct federal funding and have leveraged millions more in other investment to support projects ranging from affordable housing development to crime prevention to early childhood education.
